Golf Club Reviews and Discussions
So...how did you do this year on your golf game? have any milestones? lowest scores ever? Have any goals you met?
I would have liked to have played more, but work load didn't allow me to get out during the week, and it's not often I can play 2 days in a row on the weekend. I did improve some of my iron issues, and the driver. Always room for improvement, I still have problems because I don't get the practice time in to reinforce properly. I didn't keep a handicap this year, but my scores were about the same. Had a couple of low 80's, thought I might go sub-80 once this summer, but it didn't happen (too inconsistent). Heck, at my worst, I could have a 20 stroke swing in score. I guess next year I can say I'll make an effort to practice more, to see if I can iron out some of the inconsistency (hold that swing to 10 strokes at worst). Although my lack of time hitting off mats did mean that my tendonitis did not bother me at all this year, so thats a plus.
It's not how...it's how many
It wasn't the sort of year I was hoping for. Like Aimee, very busy at work and that cut into my week golfing, though I did start to just play 9 holes which worked out OK given how bad I was playing. Really struggled with the game this year, so had to go get lessons again which really helped. Finally toward the end of the season I was confident off the tee that the ball wasn't going to be a "toe'd slice" where I almost miss the ball due to the hard over the top (OTP) start. While the OTP is still an issue I am more aware of it in my pre-swing which helps me avoid it a lot of the time. FIxing parts of my swing gave me a little more distance with my irons that I wasn't expecting. And was generally happy with my putting using Aim Point. But my sand game regressed. So all and all my handicap ballooned early in the season and has slowly come back down to a more reasonable number.
Golf is a game that can only be played...
