Almost Ryder Cup time

In a few weeks, we'll know the final member of the US team.

Good coverage of the current Team members here

I still don't think all this stuff the US is doing to change the selection process, build team chemistry, blah blah blah will prove that valuable.  UI suppose if we win, people will say it was but our guys just need to play good golf.  Better golf than they have.  Maybe a player has been a distraction, but at this level, these guys should be able to shut out everything and focus on hitting shots. Oh well, can't wait till it gets here though...

I would think that the US

I would think that the US should be favoured because on paper they have a much stronger team that the Euros.  Mind you, the last two times we went on holiday during the Ryder Cup matches the Euros managed to come from behind on the final day.  We're leaving on holiday Monday!  surprise

I think a lot of the reason

I think a lot of the reason the US loses the Ryder Cup is Mental. That and NOT playing much Match Play golf over the course of the year. For some reason the US golfers do NOT take they Stroke play tatent into these Match Play games.

Ryan Moore rounds out the US

Ryan Moore rounds out the US Ryder Cup team.  Ryan has been the 'hot' player that Love has been looking for with his last pick.  Moore finished T-70 in the PGA Championship at Baltusrol and then recorded four top 10s over the next seven events, including his fifth career win at the John Deere Classic and the playoff loss to Rory McIlroy on Sunday.

Sunday was fun to watch.  Rory just would not be denied and man, he may not be as long as DJ, but pound for pound, given the size differnce, i think he is pretty darn close.  that drive on the first playoff hole, 378 yards or something?  wow.

And DJ..the only scenario that could cost him the FedexCup did...well given he was the highest scoring player in the field on Sunday.  Hated to see him lose it given how he played all year.

Nothing again Rory, but I was

Nothing again Rory, but I was pulling for DJ to win the FedEx cup sunday. Rory did play well an all but it was a lot of LUCK that he made it to the playoffs after his ball found the hole on his second shot on the par four 16th. GREAT shot to get it to the hole but LUCK to have it go in the hole. A few inches either way and it's a tap in for birdie and he misses the playoff and does NOT win the cup or the Championship.

One thing I was trying to figure out during the match was what clubs Ryan Moore was playing. He had a PXG logo on his hat and I had never heard of the company so I had no idea what clubs he was using. To my old eyes the logo looked like DXG and not PXG, so that didnt' help. Turns out he is playing clubs from a fairly new company. The owner of the company is named Parsons, and is a BILLIONAIRE that loves golf and started his own golf company to make the best clubs and forget about the cost. One of the perks of being a billionaire I guess. Must be nice to be that rich.

United States Ryder Cup

United States Ryder Cup Captain Davis Love III today appointed Bubba Watson his fifth and final Vice Captain for the 2016 Ryder Cup, which will take place Sept. 30-Oct. 2 at Hazeltine National Golf Club.

The 37-year-old Watson is a three-time Ryder Cup veteran (2010, ’12, and ’14) that played for Love during the 2012 Ryder Cup at Medinah, finishing 2-2-0.

Watson has also represented the United States in the 2016 Summer Olympics and in two Presidents Cups (2011, ’15).

This is Watson’s first stint as a Vice Captain. The two-time Masters Champion joins fellow United States Vice Captains Jim Furyk, Tom Lehman, Steve Stricker and Tiger Woods, each of whom was appointed by Love last year.
