Caddy or Golfer breaks the putter????

As most of us konw by now, Danny Willett broke his putter when he got mad, and he was then forced to play out this round with OUT his putter. By the rules if a golfer breaks his or her club in anger, he or she can NOT replace it during the round. But if the CADDY breaks the club, the golfer CAN continue to use the broken club for the rest of the round. Interesting little side note on this issue.

Interesting.  I can see that,

Interesting.  I can see that, if the caddie is just doing his normal duties and the putter breaks in his possession.

But if I'm angry enough to break it, but calm enough to know the rules, give it to my caddie and let him break it, then I can repalce it?  I'm sure if it played out that way with intent, they'd probably penalize me.   Better just to remember, it's the player not the club...

Golf is a game that can only be played...

I do not know if you could

I do not know if you could replace the putter if your caddy broke the putter. I know that in the video I saw they said the golfer coulf finish his rould using the broken putter, not that he could replace it with a new one. One would assume that he could replace it if he wanted to, but I'm nut sure what the rules say about this.

Putting is easy if you have the Right Putter.
