Christmas is coming and it's time to shop for toys.

If you have any golfers on your Christmas shopping list, it's getting close to that time of year again. If you want to see a few items that you might want to get for that special someone, you might want to check out my posts in the Hot Off The Presses section of this forum. I get press releases from a few agents for golf companies and I post them here so you know some of the latest items of golf that are available. Most of the companies have products I have used myself, some I have not. They have some really good products that you might want to check out for yourself or a friend.

early gift

Michael and I had dinner with some friends last night and they travel a lot Internationally. Several months ago they spent a few days in Scotland and they brought us back a St. Andrews golf towel! They aren't golfers but someone told them that St. Andrews was a pretty important place for golfers (they were near the course, but did not get on to the grounds, there was a tournement).

Scott; I just posted a press

Scott; I just posted a press release on a Laser Range Finder that will be 20% off in time for Christmas. Does he need a good range finder by any chance????

Thanks Don.  He's got one..

Thanks Don.  He's got one...and a Garmen Watch...and still just asks me to shoot it if I'm nearby :)

Thought about getting him some nice headcovers but he loses one each time we play.  Usually I get him Omaha Steak packages...he loves to eat.   But was trying to think about something golf related.  If I thought he'd use it, I'd get him a cheap swing analyzer for him to play with.

Some people are just hard to

Some people are just hard to shop for as they have most everything you can think of to buy. I have one of those Tec Tec Tec laser range finders coming in to review. I'll let you all know what I think of it when it gets here and I can get out to give it a good test at the course and range.

ding!

I bit...or more accurately, Michael bought me a gift. Global Golf was having a sale, free shipping, 125% bonus on trades...so I bought a used Vokey SM6 lob wedge. The one I've been using (SM4) has pretty worn grooves at this point. Will likely see it at the end of this week, not that it matters...

Vokey makes some pretty nice

Vokey makes some pretty nice wedges and I hope you really enjoy your new SM6 lob wedge. I hope you will let us know how you like it compated to your older SM4 that you are now using. I hope you have some nice weather and get a chance to try it out before the new year gets here.

I got one of those  Tec Tec

I got one of those  Tec Tec Tec laser range finders in this week. Took it our just to see how it works picking up the flag at the range, So far I'm quite impressed with the Dlx 1K model. VERY fast with the yardage readings. Just press the bottom and I have the yardage reading. ZERO waiting time. I'll need to try it out to longer yardages than I hav et the driving range, which maxs out at 260 yards. They claim it's good to 1000 yards, so I;ll have to try it at longer distances and find out if I can get reading out to 350 and more. . Hard to find a straigtht par 4 or 5 where I can see the flag from the green so it's hard to test a laser much past 300 yards on most holes.

Vokey wedge

got the wedge on Friday...and snow arrived on Saturday. The club head appears to be identical in size, the bottom of the head has a more pronounced bulge I believe. Or at least it looks that way. They say that the high lofted wedges have more weight moved to the bottom of the club. I'm shipping my old wedge back for a credit. Hopefully can get some range time in with the new one to make sure I like it, so I have time to track down an SM4 if I need to go back to that!
