HHHHOOT!

we have really hot days coming this weekend, mid 90's...they cancelled our Club Championship and rescheduled due to the heat index. Of course, one year I played when it was forecasted to get up to 100, I guess someone is thinking about liability now. Anyhow, we are still planning to play Saturday - with a power cart - at the shadiest of our courses (mountainview). If you hear howling on Saturday night, that will be my husband rolling on the ground with leg cramps.

Ours is still on Aimee,

Ours is still on Aimee, projected to be a 95+ before you factor in the heat index.  Going to be hot!   At least we start at 8am... Ha!

I heard the forecast for the

I heard the forecast for the east coast  this morning and it's supposed to be in or just under Triple digits for a lot of you guys back there. Raliegh is suppose to be in the low 100 degree range for this weekend when you factor in the heat index. We will be close to 100 degrees here in Denver next week but we do NOT have the high humudity to deal with here, so it's not as bad as it is back east.

COOL in Colorado today

We have a cool front coming in Friday so the forecast high is a nice comfortable 73 degrees. Bad news is it's supposed to be Rainy most of the day. Which is really GOOD news since we really NEED the rain and we have forest fires burning across 4 parts of the state. Rain would be a welcome relief from the 90 plus heat and sur ewould help with fighting those wild fires. I'm thinking you guys on  the east coast should be seeing those cooler temps in about 2 more days, so it could be nicer back east the first part of next week.

We are still bathing in the

We are still bathing in the heat here in the northeast.  Day after day of 30°C (86°) temperatures for what seems like 6 weeks in a row.  Compare that to last year where we only had 3 such days all of last summer!

We've had some rain in the last two weeks so things are greening up nicely.  But, with that comes the humidity and it has been oppressive at times with heat indexes pushing 40°C (104°).

Many Americans are coming north for their vacations to take advantage of our cheap dollar.  We were down in St. David's yesterday and the border crossing at Lewiston was a 1.5 to 2 hour wait!  I suppose it's tolerable if you're going over for a week or so, but for those folks who have to make day trips it becomes a real issue.  Even the Nexus card is no guarantee of a quick trip through customs.  At the very least there needs to be more agents on duty to help speed up the process.  When you see and experience this it makes one appreciate the free flow of people and goods in the European Union.

That last line made me laugh

That last line made me laugh Scomac. How long will we have the free flow of people and goods now we have voted out of the EU. Well 51% of the voting population voted out. I was one of the 49% to stay. I think we will have increases in time at airports when our passports change from EU to UK. We will probably have to pay £50 for the privilage too. CAC

Yeah Cac, that was an

Yeah Cac, that was an interesting vote.  I woudl have thought it would have taken something like a 2/3 majority vote to make a move such as that, so I was suprised to see it pass on that close a vote.  But I hope all goes well for you all in the end.

Weather wise, just left the coast after a week of vacation and we pretty much were 90-95 every day with the "feels like" temps even higher.  Our house had an inground pool and literally, by the afternoon, it was so warm it was like bath water.  Not refreshing but it was wet so that was a plus....

We had another nice cool

We had another nice cool weekend here. High of only 72 or so on Friday and again on Saturday with a small bit of rain Saturday night. Forecast was for about an inch of rain but all I got at the house was just enough to get the sidewalk wet. Dry and not most of the month so far. A total of only .05" of rain for the month. I think the next tiem they forecast an inch of rain I'll schedule a round of golf knowing it will be nice and dry for my golf outing.

heat

Friday and Saturday were kind of brutal with the humidity, I didn't feel great Saturday night after that round. But the front came through Sunday night and Monday was beautiful, right around 80 degrees, no humidity, nice breeze. Today also.

It's not how...it's how many

Finally getting some cooler temps here in the Carolina's after a HOT summer. Still very dry but at least I'm not drenched in sweet when I finish 18.
