Masters 2016 winner

IMO this has to be one of the eagerly awaited masters in years. The field is so open it could be anyone's green jacket. With Rory not quite on form but on his day the best. The two Aussies day and Scott playing so well. South Africans ousthoussen and shwartzel also in good form and passed winners. Plus bubba, zac, Dustin and #1 speith. Who's gonna win it? two guesses each. I'll go for Dustin Johnson and rose but it's up for the taking. Cac

I agree Cac.. I put $20 on 5

I agree Cac.. I put $20 on 5 golfers while in Vegas a few weeks back..none of the favirote, mostly guys who are 30 or 50  to 1....I think I took Louie, Patrick Reed, Zach Johnson and I forget the otehr 2.  But I do think it's pretty wide open who could win.  Day or Rory might put it together, but it could also be one of the many other guys in the event.  I'm looking forward to it.

And let's not forget about

And let's not forget about Henrick Stenson. He has been playing very well recently and with his 3 wood working so well off the tee, he could find a LOT of fairways on this very hard course. Fairways and Greens could be the key for him having a great event and win it all. Day, Scott or Speith and Bubba have a great chance as well to win it. As usual, it could come down to WHO has the HOT putter that wears the green jacket this year. And Ricky and Phil are due for a great 4 round event about now.

THREE holes In One at the Masters Par 3 event

I do not know the total number os Holes-In-One this week at the par 3 event, but I saw where Thomas and Fowler hit Back to Back Holes-In-One on a hole and then I saw on TV that Gary Player hit one to become the Oldest golfer to do so in the event so that makes at least THREE that I know of. I saw a replay of Gary's shot, it there was a LOT of luck on his shot. The ball lander well away from the fly, UP hill of the cup, and the cup was in a VALLEY, so the ball just rolled Down Hill and into the bottom of the valley and was funneled right to the cup and in it went. This is exactly what happened a few years ago on tour, when the cup was in a low part of the green and any balls up hill of the cup would roll right toward the cup. Much easeri to get a hole in one under those condidtions than normal.

Nine in Total

I just read that they set a record with NINE Hole-In-Ones yesterday at the Masters Par 3 event. And the best round of the day was an amazing 19 score. Not bad to 9 holes and 8 under.

It's the kiss of death to win

It's the kiss of death to win the par 3 event, up to now.

See there's a good mix top of the leaderboard with USA and players from British isles there also. Who can stop spieth ? Cac

Well that will go down as one

Well that will go down as one to remember!  Monumental collapse?  I don't think it was any worse than previous versions such as Rory's fall in 2012 or Norman's in 1992.  In fact, compared so some other disasters it was relatively quick and painless as he managed to stage a bit of a comeback.

I will say this much; it was a tremendous display of fortitude on the part of Speith to be able to pull himself together after such an emotional moment and them present the green jacket to the eventual winner and put up with all the obvious lines of questioning that would follow.  IMO, he may well have conqueured more than simply defending a title!

Jordan gave up 6 srrokes in 3

Jordan gave up 6 srrokes in 3 holes, 10-12, and still had a good chance to get it back and tie it up. It was sad to say the least to have that happen on day 4 of a major. But something tells me he will be BACK pretty soon and be as good as before if not better due to the defeat.

I agree.  He collapsed but

I agree.  He collapsed but then turned around and fought back and had chances.  it was that second ball in the water on 12 that really hurt.  Without that he's tied with a couple to play and I like his chances there.     But I don't think the young guys worry like people think.  Spieth KNOWS he will be in the Masters what, another 20 times or more?  So he's got chances to make it up.

But him leading 7 straigh rounds at the Masters, almost 8, that's damn impressive.

Loved all the hole in ones Sunday. That one by Louie was insane!!!
