The young kid from back around 2008 that won a few events and then dropped out of the spotlight? I had heard he was injured and then there were rumors of a $10M insurance payout assuming he never played pro golf again.. Well he was back in the news a little a few weeks back, with some social media posts:
GolfDigest posted: We're not sure what Kim was doing at the pet store, but we do know he's a three-time PGA Tour winner and that he was a key member of the 2008 U.S. Ryder Cup victory when he was only 23. A series of injuries derailed his career, and it's been reported that a large insurance payout is part of the reason why he hasn't returned to competitive golf since his appearance at the 2012 Wells Fargo Championship.
Kim did his first interview since that tournament in September with the AP's Doug Ferguson. In it, Kim, who turns 31 next month, said he spends much of his free-time rehabbing and that he hasn't physically been able to play much golf.
I hope its not really all been about free money but who knows...
